Thank You Come Again
Seriously how can you get anything done or resolved over the phone when the customer service rep is from another country and his accent is so thick you cant understand him. |

Democracy at its Best
This has to be the most disgusting election I've had to live through. It easily tops the last one. Its not just the candidates and the major political parties it is the voters. Some of those on the right are using the most foul bigoted tactics I have experienced. And were still a few days away. |

Freedom of the press
With everyone concentrating on the election and the Palin baby momma debacle I wonder how many people are keeping up to date or even know about the massive journalist arrests during the democratic and republican conventions (and the many far and inbetween)? There is of course the smaller independent journalists being arrested is large droves and placed into a warehouse turned concentration camp. What for one might ask? Any reason the police can come up with, disturbing the peace (asking questions) is a favorite it seems. Being such small, independent, and therefor unimportant journalists keeps their arrests under the radar of the masses allowing it to continue without much outrage. However recently the long arm of the law has extended its reach into "higher" forms of new reporters such as ABC, AP, and recently Democracy Now reporter Amy Goodman. All of these arrests, of course, have been met with dispute and some sort of reporting (mostly blogging and stumbleupon) but it is now that the so called popular news has become a target that hopefully all this will come into the media spotlight. If it does not than I am truly worried. Much of what I have said also depends on the person who perceives it. I try to keep up to date on matter such as this. But what about those who gets their news from television and even worse Fox News? Who else here has heard or read of what I said? Also who here that does not read newspapers but watches television more than 20 hours a week has heard of this? |

Heres Johny
Up till early today I never saw the movie "The Shining". Three hours later I watched it via youtube. It wasn't until the movie was over and I did a little bit of research did I realize it was a mini-series remake of the original movie. While I did enjoy the movie I wanted to watch it for the three memorable scenes (little girls in the hallway, Heres Johnny, and all work and no play makes jack a dull boy). Sadly this mini-series lacked all three. I don't feel like sitting around for another 3/4 hours so mebbe ill youtube the scenes. I should have known when I had the thought "This looks great for such an old movie." Oh and no Jack Nicholson with an Ax it was some dude with a croquet mallet. Video not related |

Fire update
About three days ago 6pm a fire started in the hills next to my city. In the few hours up till midnight My roommate and I packed up our things and the animals and fled the home. The animals are safe in Beullton along with my roomate. I am crashing at my friends house. Last night was interesting we drove up to my friends parents home and helped them evacuate the fire zone. We got out of there just as the smell of smoke wafted in, the ash drowned the air, and the firemen ran down the street hitting the doors and kicking the inhabitants out of their homes. Oh and to add to the aewesomness there was rolling blackout the entire night. So you could see a scene out of a disaster movie- The sky was filled with ash blacked with smoke, cars jammed at intersections, and the streets pitch black. Some areas had light but our area was not one of them. It was pretty exciting actually. California, Santa Barbara, is in a State of Emergency by the words of the Terminator Governor. It seems to have calmed down slightly. We have power and the sky is a bit blue, the fire is still raging but the winds have died down. Pics to come |

Netflix
SO I joined Netflix not too long ago. I am still on the trial membership and it already has paid for the monthly cost in the online section alone. Finished "Lust, Caution" Very good movie. A strange twist on the traditional love story. The ending brought a tear to my eye. Anyone else here use Netflix? Ya this sounds lame but be my Netflix friend (click link). I would like to see what movies your into and possible suggestions. http://www.netflix.com/BeMyFriend/PATTJFI4BWwI30UhzGAJ |

toe nipper
So every morning after my shower the ferret attacks my feet. Bitting my toes and then running off when I reach for him (or something counterattacking my hand). He knows by doing this I will chase him and it becomes a game. He also knows that if he waits until I'm out of the shower I am defenseless and cannot follow him out of the bathroom. |

Califur once again
Well just got home from Califur. I am les miserables from the heat going on in the area. It was pretty hot at the con as well. We did have safety within the well air conditioned barriers of the hotel. Although there was a large miscalculation when the fursuit parade ended outside resulting in the fursuiters sweating it out (even further) in the sun for the pictures. But I had my fan working at the time and my steampunk ensemble was a great edition to the theme. Speaking of the theme it was a well thought out and original theme. They could have gone with the overdone and stale theme of oh say Safari or yet another surfing/islander theme.... But they chose steampunk so points to them for that. The con overall was not the best it could have been. I am hoping the Holiday Inn kicked us out instead of the convention choosing to move out on its own. The current hotel was a terrible choice. It was a bit too high class for a convention such as this. It was overpriced with terrible amentities. The staff turned its noses up to us. And for some reason we had to be booked along side a cosmetics convention, a wedding, and senior prom! I feel terribly sorry for these people. Even if the holiday Inn does not have enough event space for the masquerade it is a much better venue. I fear that whatever Further Confusion moves to might be a hotel like this one. Oh and can we get rid of this pet auction already? Its just sad. |
